When using our app, you may notice distance differences displayed on profiles. It's essential to understand that the distances shown are calculated based on the straight-line distance between two points, also known as "as the crow flies" distance.
Why Distances May Appear Inaccurate
The distances shown in the app represent the straight-line distance between you and the other user, not the actual travel distance or route. This means the displayed distance may not always match real-world travel distances. Factors like roads, terrain, and transportation routes can affect how far someone actually is and how long it would take to reach them.
Why Do I See People Outside of My Distance Filter Setting?
If we run out of users who match your exact filter settings, you may see people outside your preferred distance. When this happens, you'll get a warning in Zapping letting you know that no more profiles fit your criteria. To continue discovering new people, you can either adjust your filters or allow us to show similar users who may not be an exact match but are as close as possible.
It is important to clarify that we never disclose the exact locations of our users, prioritizing user privacy and security.
